An extraordinary paradise – one of the finest resorts we have ever experienced! We began our Indonesian adventure in July with five unforgettable days at BASK Gili Meno, enjoying the tranquillity, snorkelling and diving. Having travelled extensively and stayed at many exceptional hotels around the world, I can honestly say that BASK ranks among the very best we have ever experienced. The beachfront villas are simply breathtaking. The architecture, exquisite interior design, private pools and beautifully landscaped gardens are nothing short of perfection. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, and the entire resort is maintained to an exceptionally high standard. The cleanliness is absolutely impeccable. The staff deserve the highest praise. Their warmth, attentiveness and genuine hospitality are remarkable. Being greeted by name and made to feel so personally welcome is something truly special. The food was outstanding throughout our stay, but the breakfast deserves particular recognition. The variety, freshness, presentation and exceptional flavours are almost impossible to surpass. Quite simply, one of the finest hotel breakfasts we have ever enjoyed! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner during a speedboat trip to a neighbouring island, without initially realising who he was. What a genuinely charming and down-to-earth gentleman! It is easy to imagine that his personal involvement and presence contribute greatly to the extraordinary standards maintained throughout the resort. Of course, such perfection comes at a price. But once you experience the exceptional comfort, immaculate surroundings, outstanding service and the tremendous effort required to maintain everything at this level, you realise that BASK is worth every single penny. The value for money is absolutely justified. Having read some rather critical reviews, I would also like to offer another perspective. Resorts such as BASK bring valuable employment opportunities, infrastructure, investment and an awareness of international standards of hospitality, cleanliness and environmental responsibility to a small island. We also noticed that some beaches outside the resort were unfortunately affected by litter, which makes the care and attention given to BASK’s surroundings all the more impressive. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but perhaps it is worth looking a little closer to home before criticising others. My heartfelt congratulations to the entire management and every single member of the team – from the restaurant and housekeeping staff to the gardeners and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes. You have created something truly extraordinary. Please never compromise on these exceptional standards! BASK Gili Meno is not simply a luxury resort. It is a place that leaves a lasting impression and sets a benchmark against which other hotels will inevitably be measured. Thank you for five magical days. We sincerely hope to return one day!
