I recently enjoyed a Sunday roast at ‘The House by Hilly Gant,’ and it was outstanding. I had the roast beef whilst my partner had the Nut roast. It was the best beef I've had in a long time, cooked to perfection. And my partner couldn’t get enough of hers either! What made the experience even more special was the fantastic service from Suzanne, our friendly waiter. We never felt left awkwardly waiting to order or pay for the bill and she was a pleasure to talk to also. The cozy ambiance added to the charm of the place. Highly recommended for a top quality Sunday roast!

A gastronomic delight. Head chef on vacation. Very young (21?) sous chef made our delicious meal. Amazing tastes. Yum.

Went here a few months ago for a graduation dinner, had heard amazing things about the previous owners and name so hoped highly they'd kept these traditions going, however the food was incredibly expensive considering the over-seasoned taste in all the meals. Food not as hot as would be expected, far too much cheese on a fish dish? To boot it was incredibly loud with too many tables in one room. I don't doubt this could have improved the last few months however please choose wisely when choosing to part with a significant portion of cash.

Really enjoyed myself at this restaurant and loved the food. I had the mushroom starter, the pork to main and the crème brûlée for dessert and couldn’t fault any of it! Service was great, our waiter had a sense of humour and at last minute switched out table to outside without any complaints etc. will visit again.

A pleasant dining experience with regard to the venue and menu options, slightly pricey but overall offers good value.

Overpriced and small portions. Very noisy seats too close together.

Friendly staff. Very over priced and limited menu, and small portions. Not offered water, no water glasses on table. Will not be returning. Meal was to celebrate birthday and 53rd wedding anniversary. Did not stay for coffee Home by 9.30pm.
