What can i say? Delightful Daisy, and the fantastic force and font of knowledge that is Jourdane...had a fantastic evening that was as much a social experience and a food journey that delivered in all the areas required. Nothing was an effort and the food was superb, as was the service, we will dream of a return ASAP 😀 Thanks for the excellent in everything.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, brilliant food

I booked a table of 9 well in advance to ensure availability. Usually at least one person has a dodgy dish throughout a three course meal….. but no! All plates cleared for all three courses. The service was outstanding as well, although being seated upstairs did make food and drink delivery a proper workout for the friendly and helpful staff. We all couldn’t fault the food or experience at all. Thanks to everyone for making this a memorable experience.

The House, by Hilly Gant is a delightful local spot that strikes a great balance between comfort and creativity. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with just the right touch of charm to make it feel special without being over the top. The menu is thoughtfully curated—fresh, seasonal ingredients, and a few standout dishes that really impressed. Service was attentive and friendly, though there was a slight wait during peak hours. All in all, a great experience.

Lovely food best starters I’ve ever had aswell as the mains is delicious

I was really impressed with my starter which was kindly prepared by Oliver Spencer, the waitress called Daisy was very polite and chatty. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Will be back soon. Thanks Oliver

Lovely place for Braintree but very cramped seating areas, we sat by the stairs and all night you got people walking past the tables to go upstairs to the toilet or the waitresses taking food up and down. Took almost 15 mins to be offered a drink before eventually taking our order Overall id say this is a overated pricey restaurant Food was lovely and the staff were great, but they really need to look at how cramped this seating areas is.

Terrible experience .. went as a large group and were squashed into a corner … where I sat the were passing plates over my head… food was missing from the menu even though we ordered ahead. Staff lacked training and most were tone deaf as they served with raised voices. This is the second time I have visited the last time was 2023 for Xmas lunch. Same experience… not good value for money.. obviously the regulars love it as they don’t no any better or have not taste. I struggled to open the front door as a was carrying a celebration cake in only to be watched by a young waitress would never offered to help. Seems like southern hospitality has vanished! Price of drinks were extortionate especially the wine.

Fantastic atmosphere, great food and the staff were excellent. Harry in particular looked after us all so well. Would recommend
