We stayed at another resort on the island, but very much enjoyed spending some time at Bask. This place definitely stands out on Gili Meno, everything else is so low key that Bask feels even more extravagant. The staff was all so kind, quick to answer any questions, and even give a quick tour. We also had a chance to meet Manuel, the sommelier, and loved getting to chat with him. The wine list was such a treat (especially in the Gili islands) and the food all sounded incredible as well (though we didn’t get a chance to try any). Would love to come back and stay one day to thoroughly enjoy this gorgeous resort.

The best place in Gili Meno to relax by the pool & beach. It's so new, so everything is clean and nice. Their pizza is the proper one with delicious taste from the good oven while you often get disappointed in other restaurants on the island. They have Heineken beer from the tap as well as big wine selection. Manu is the most wonderful person to interact with and can give you the right choice of nice wine for your afternoon. Look for no more. This is the place. I live in Bali and often go to Meno. Trust me. You won't get disappointed.

We dined at BASK twice during our stay at Gili Meno. Although we wanted to branch out we tried the same thing both nights because the first time was so delicious! It’s definitely on the more expensive side but absolutely worth it if you feel like treating yourself. The staff both times were just wonderful! So funny and attentive and made our visits that much more special. Special shout-out to Musaji- you’re the best!!

Money doesn’t do all the work. We were amazed by the beauty of the place, newly built and supposedly providing a great service. We decided to give it a go. FYI we don’t mind paying, as long as we get the service. Note as well, that one of us has been working for more than 17 years in hospitality, and therefore know how things work and how important reviews and such are. It took at least 15 min to take our order even for drinks. The waiter was so preoccupied with his surroundings that it took too long just to open a bottle of wine. For one of us the order was wrong, as the waiter either failed to remember to say the catch of the day had run out, or didn’t think it would matter. Unfortunately, the waiter didn’t take ownership of it or apologise. Rather, he came up with a lie and on top of it had the cheekiness to offer us another meal to “supposedly” make up for the mistake, when we know it was probably an extra dish that was another mistake?… Guess what, we also saw that the same waiter got the orders wrong at a table sitting next to us and that dish was also extra (point being that night was very entertaining as mistakes were flying that night hey…) Of course I do not share all the details in terms of service that wasn’t correct all night.. e:g table wasn’t dressed even when meals on the table, table orders not taken in order etc… If you guys want to change something, perhaps a bit more training could be provided and highlighting the need for care when attending tables.. Another thing, we found it a bit unprofessional the appearance of some staff. Our great waiter with his iPad and his Sunglasses upside down and on the back of his neck, very trendy at least! The food was great, location and establishment great beautiful. We heard that the owners are from different nationalities, so maybe a good brainstorming together for the service would be good. PS: note that managers or owners did not come to our table and try to have a conversation or apologise whatsoever. I really want to put one star but will be writing two instead. Food and establishment deserve a 5.
