The first time I visited, I waited over 10 minutes for water and had to ask for it myself. Even then, the waitress never brought it, and I had to get up and ask again. The second time, the same waitress charged us incorrectly and didn't notice until after my friend had paid. The manager got involved, and they spent ages trying to sort out the refund. They even thought they had refunded the money to the wrong card, only to realise later that the refund was actually correct — they simply couldn't keep track of their own transactions! They then proceeded to check everyone's card details and payment amounts, leaving us wondering what the point of all that was. Meanwhile, my friend had to pay again and was told to come back if the refund hadn't arrived by the next day. All this hassle could have been avoided with a simple cash refund. Mistakes happen, but this level of incompetence and poor service is ridiculous. Definitely not coming back.

Very disappointing experience with both the food and the way my complaint has been handled. After becoming unwell following a meal at Putney Thai Square, I contacted the restaurant to raise my concerns. The restaurant offered a 50% refund, which I accepted. However, it has now been **three weeks with no further communication and no refund**. If a restaurant offers a refund in response to a customer complaint, I would expect them to follow through and provide a basic level of communication. Three weeks of complete silence is simply not acceptable customer service. I have been patient and reasonable throughout, but I am disappointed that I have had to chase this. I hope the restaurant will now honour the refund offered and provide an explanation for the lack of communication.

We had a nice meal here. Tried the dumplings for a starter and they were lovely. The main was their speciality and it was nice. Service was good. Lovely Asian decor. They have a pizza restaurant down stairs which looked interesting.

For a Saturday night at around 9:30 it was practically deserted. We only wanted a quick bite so ordered 4 dishes. They came quickly but we were immediately disappointed. It was as if we’d been served leftovers. For a starter we had some sort of mince you then tip into a corn type of cup, it was ok. Then vegetables with no flavour (broccoli & mushroom), red chicken curry was very tasty but the chicken totally overcooked, dry and difficult to eat. Pad Thai probably the blandest I’ve tasted. Not once were we asked during our meal if everything was ok. A very disappointing experience and definitely will not be returning.

Thai Square was decent overall — the food was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. To be fair, the portions were a bit small for the price, and it felt quite expensive for what you get. Expect to spend £30+ per person. The restaurant is also quite dimly lit inside, which creates a certain atmosphere but isn’t ideal if you want to take good photos. Overall, an okay experience, but not particularly good value for money.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have been too. Amazing food. Great service and great atmosphere.

Rather exceptional Thai cuisine. My wife loved speaking Thai with the staff. Decor was a little overdone and more attention to table spacing would improve the feel.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so poor that I felt compelled to. We arrived at around 9:30pm and stood at the entrance for at least seven minutes without anyone acknowledging us. One member of staff had their back to us, another was serving a table, but despite being clearly visible, nobody greeted us or even said they’d be with us shortly. Eventually, we were seated, only to be forgotten again. We waited another 10 minutes while other diners were attended to before I had to flag a waiter down just to place our order. He initially ignored me and only came over a few minutes later. There was no apology or explanation for the delay. I then asked if they were short-staffed, hoping for some context. The waiter responded sarcastically with, “Clearly.” I was genuinely taken aback and asked, “Did you just say ‘clearly’?” He didn’t deny it or apologise. When my friend asked how long the food would take, his response was a dismissive, “It’s gonna be long.” At that point, we’d had enough. Poor service can happen, especially if a restaurant is busy, but basic courtesy costs nothing. We weren’t treated like valued customers, and the attitude we received was unacceptable. We left without ordering because I won’t spend my money somewhere that makes customers feel unwelcome and disrespected. Won’t be surprised if they spit in your food with their behaviour. Avoid if you value good customer service. Management seriously needs to address the professionalism and attitude of the front-of-house team. UPDATE / EDIT : 1 October 2026 “Management” finally responded to my review on 19 September, almost 2 Months after my initial negative feedback (31 July ) with fake apologies and assurances that the matter had been escalated to senior management etc. They told me to email them directly to resolve the matter. I emailed them on 20 September, as requested. Till now NO RESPONSE. So the public faux response was clearly PERFORMATIVE and an insincere attempt to look like they take customer complaints seriously , value their customers and hold their staff accountable, while actively ignoring the customer who actually followed their instructions and got in touch.
