I've been visiting this gym occasionally over the past few years whenever I’m in town. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to write this review out of frustration following my most recent visit. While the facility itself is excellent and the coaches are highly skilled—shoutout to Kojo, who has been a standout—I noticed a concerning shift in the atmosphere. The gym was noticeably quiet, and the overall vibe felt lacklustre, which was disappointing given its potential. The owner is a genuinely nice man, and the quality of coaching has always been a highlight. However, I’ve observed a high turnover of staff recently, which raises red flags for a gym of this calibre. During my visit, I witnessed the current manager addressing one of the staff members in a negative and dismissive manner. It was unprofessional and, frankly, off-putting. This interaction led me to wonder if the turnover is linked to her management style. Sadly, it seems like many of the original, long-term staff are no longer around—Kareem, who was one of my go-to trainers, is gone as well. I can only assume that the owner is left to clear up the manager’s mess and will need to address this situation quickly to prevent further long-term harm to the business. The passion and energy that once defined this gym now seem to be missing. It’s a real shame, as the facility has so much potential to succeed. In my opinion, a change in management is necessary to revive the spirit of this place. Ultimately, I decided to sign up for a membership at Third Space, even though I rarely use it. It’s disheartening to have moved on from what was once a fantastic gym, but the current environment left me with little choice. Going back there is not a option I would consider at this moment of time, whilst she is there.

Great gym in central London to visit. If you are traveling on train to Buddha box the nearest train station would be “Green park” I hope to be back here soon for another gym session and the healthy food and protein shakes served upstairs at the cafe. Thank you to Rowan for the hospitality.

Coming here has motivated me to come to classes and learn a skill, get stronger and be more flexible. The community vibe makes it easier to stay motivated. I came to the gym, because I wanted somewhere local to my work. I was shown round and introduced to all the classes. I've since regularly attended the technical boxing classes, yoga and also tried muy Thai. The classes are at various times and I've been able to jump in a class during my lunch. Also after work. I'm so happy here my hair has started to grow back.

I had the best 5 weeks training at BuddhaBox. The team were incredible, friendly, professional and real good fun. Sean, Kojo and Louis were absolute stars not forgetting Viné, Tia and Helen. The gym itself was fully equipped and hygiene to a very high standard. Although my stay was short, my memories of BuddhaBox will be long lasting. Jason Jack

Very poorly run. I came to get an ABC shake 3 times in the course of a 1-2 week period. They didn’t have the ingredients to make the shake the first time I came and supplies hadn’t yet arrived by the last time I came too. They offered to make it with half the ingredients missing, which is not great. In the end, opted not to order anything as wasted my time. Need to be more organised!

Questions about BuddhaBox

Is BuddhaBox legit?

TheReviews does not certify businesses. BuddhaBox has a score of 4.8 out of 5, labelled Excellent, from 175 reviews on TheReviews and its connected review sites, but no reviews written on TheReviews yet, so none of its reviews here are marked verified. The profile has not been claimed by the business. Every moderation decision is listed in the public log on this page.

What is BuddhaBox's TheReviews score?

BuddhaBox has a score of 4.8 out of 5, labelled Excellent, from 175 reviews on TheReviews and its connected review sites. The score comes from one published formula: every business starts at 3.5 with the weight of 3 reviews, verified reviews weigh 1.0, organic reviews 0.7, and each review loses half its weight every year. Ratings on connected sites such as Google or Booking.com are blended in at 0.5 per review, together never outweighing 50 verified reviews, and every review counts towards how sure the score is, so many reviews elsewhere are not held back by the starting point. That places it 3 of 4 in Fitness. Read the formula with a worked example.

How many of BuddhaBox's reviews are verified?

None yet, because nobody has written a review on TheReviews. A verified review comes through an invitation tied to a real order or through the API. Organic reviews, written by anyone with a confirmed account, count for 0.7 of a verified one.

Does BuddhaBox reply to reviews?

There are no reviews on TheReviews to reply to yet. The profile is unclaimed; once the business claims it, it can reply to every review free of charge.

Can BuddhaBox remove bad reviews?

No. No plan at any price lets a business remove a review. BuddhaBox can post one public reply per review and can report a review that breaks the written guidelines. A person reads every report, and the outcome is recorded in the public moderation log either way. See the moderation log for BuddhaBox.
