Compared with Trustpilot
Switching from Trustpilot, line by line
Prices, terms and what changes on the day you move. Every Trustpilot figure here is a list price from their own pricing page as published in September 2026, and every TheReviews figure is the one on our pricing page.
Price and invitations
Per month. Trustpilot prices are per domain on a 12-month prepaid contract; ours are per organisation, billed monthly. The cost per invitation assumes the whole allowance is used.

True on every TheReviews plan
These describe how we work. They are not claims about anyone else, and each one links to where you can check it.
- Verified by default
- A review that arrives through an invitation, the API, Shopify or WooCommerce is tied to a purchase and carries the Verified badge. Organic reviews are welcome and weigh 0.7 in the score.
- Nothing removed for money
- No plan buys any say over what is published. Reviews are hidden or removed only for breaking the guidelines, and the reason is given.
- The score formula is published
- Every constant is printed on the trust page, so anyone can recompute a score from the reviews on a profile.
- A public moderation log
- Each hold, hide, restore and removal is listed on the profile and on the transparency page, one decision at a time.
- Your other reviews come with you
- On Starter and above, connect Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, Yelp and others. Trustpilot is read with your own API key, which we store encrypted.
- Your reviews are yours
- Download every published review as a CSV on any plan, Free included. Anyone can read a public profile through the open data API, free and without a key.
How to move
Most businesses do this in an afternoon. You do not have to cancel Trustpilot first, and running both for a while is fine.
- 1
Claim your profile
Claim your business on the free plan. A domain email verifies it in a minute; a DNS record or a manual check also work. Your profile may already exist, since we list businesses that have reviews elsewhere.
- 2
Connect Trustpilot as a source
On Starter and above, open Sources in the dashboard and add your Trustpilot Business API key. Your Trustpilot history shows on your profile, named as Trustpilot, and refreshes every day. Shoppers see the whole record from the first day, not an empty page.
- 3
Switch your invitations over
Point your order flow at TheReviews instead: Shopify, WooCommerce and Zapier are set up from the dashboard without code, and the integrations page lists the rest. Invitations wait seven days by default, so the email lands after the parcel does. Reviews that come back through them are marked Verified.
- 4
Swap the widget
Replace the Trustpilot widget on your site with ours: one script tag, or a plain link and SVG badge for places that will not run a script. The snippets are on the developers page, and the badge is free on every plan.
Questions people ask
- What happens to my Trustpilot reviews if I move?
- They stay on Trustpilot, and nothing about moving touches them. On Starter and above you can connect your Trustpilot account with your own Trustpilot Business API key, and your Trustpilot reviews, TrustScore and review count then appear on your TheReviews profile, labelled as coming from Trustpilot. Trustpilot decides which of its plans include API access, so check that before you cancel anything there.
- Do my Trustpilot reviews count towards my score here?
- Yes, at reduced weight. Each review from a connected platform counts as 0.5 of a review written here, and all of them together never weigh more than 50 verified reviews, so new reviews on TheReviews always move the score. They are not marked Verified here and are not sent to search engines as your rating. The full formula is on the trust page.
- Are the Trustpilot prices on this page current?
- They are the list prices published on business.trustpilot.com in September 2026, per month, per domain, on a 12-month prepaid contract. Trustpilot's page says actual quotes take traffic and revenue into account, so what you were quoted may differ, and the prices may have changed since. Check their pricing page before you decide.
- Can I leave TheReviews later?
- Yes. Monthly plans end at the end of the month. Every plan, including Free, can download all of its published reviews as a CSV from the dashboard, and anyone can read a public profile through the open data API without a key, at up to 60 requests a minute.
- Can I pay to have a review removed?
- No. No plan, at any price, removes, hides or reorders a review. You can report one that breaks the guidelines; a person reads the report and the decision is listed in the public moderation log either way.
