An absolute hidden gem. Great food and service. The Scotch Egg starter is to die for!!

Our first visit this evening for Valentines. Lovely food, beatufuuly cooked and presented while remaining relaxed and comfortable. Excellent service.... So welcoming and friendly. Will definitely book again

We ate here on Friday 31st and enjoyed a lovely evening with fabulous food in a nice restaurant. We were told early on that a member of staff had been taken poorly at the last minute, but that wasn’t an issue for us at all. Service was good - the food perhaps a little slow to come out but well worth the wait and didn’t impact us at all. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return.

We had an early booking which meant we could talk quietly at the beginning of the evening - but we enjoyed the convivial atmosphere as more people arrived, Our waitress was lovely and managed to balance being attentive without being intrusive. The food was just amazing - we were celebrating a birthday ending in a 0 and I'm so glad we chose The House. Some meals stay in your memory and I am confident this will be one of them. This restaurant is a short journey for us, so why bother to go any further when there is a restaurant of this calibre close by - but if you live further afield your journey will be worth it. I'm giving this Five stars in every category.

Really lovely restaurant, service was excellent and interesting atmosphere with it feeling like a cosy house serving excellent food. Was a last minute decision to come here, and what a last minute decision that was.

Awful steaks, should have refunded the cost, were only given supplement off the meal. Disappointed

The food was absolutely incredible – every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The building itself is stunning, with so much charm and character. You can tell every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This is truly a gem of a place, and I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Me and my fiancé went here for our Christmas Day dinner. The food was delicious, the atmosphere created by the staff was lovely as well. We have been here a couple of times previously for food and we have never been able to fault it. 😊
